Those Who Are No Longer With Us

When something happens in the dark you can almost pretend it is not happening at all. Not this, however. Whatever it was that was under the blanket with me suddenly started to embrace me from all sides. I was engulfed by it. Every inch of my body was pressed against another's flesh. No matter how I twisted and turned this point-for-point contact continued. This other flesh was not warm, however, but cold, and had no anatomy. There were no arms, legs, stomach or breasts. The foul smell also intensified, becoming nearly insufferable. Though my senses were completely overwhelmed I was, how shall I put it, not displeased. A moment after our struggle had reached its climax, I was left alone again.
